Norman J. Warren and David McGillivray In Conversation

Norman J. Warren began his career in British cinema as the director of low budget sexploitation films in the late 1960s before quickly moving on to carve out a niche for himself in the British horror genre with films like Prey, Terror and Insemnoid. David McGillivray was also prolific during this time working as a screenwriter on titles including House Of Whipcord, House Of Mortal Sin and Schizo. The two men worked together on the well-regarded titles Satan's Slave and Terror. Their work during this period was notable for departing from the established Hammer & Amicus template by being set in contemporary society, featuring younger lead characters and upping the sex and violence quotient.

We are delighted to welcome Norman J. Warren and David McGillivray to Fantastiq for an
on-stage discussion of their lives and careers in horror.

Alan J.W. Bell In Conversation.

Director and producer Alan J.W. Bell began his long career at the BBC as an assistant before graduating to an editing position and then on to producing and directing. His debut as a director came on two episodes of Michael Palin's much loved Ripping Yarns and he followed it up with a challenging assignment as producer and director of the television version of Douglas Adams' Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy, a challenge he rose to with great success, producing a memorable and extremely funny combination of live action and animation on an extremely tight budget. We are delighted to welcome Alan to Fantastiq for an on-stage discussion of his work on the series and he will also be signing copies of his new book A Hitch in the Galaxy: The Making Of A Legend.
